Accidents Happen
sorry if this post lacks capitalization i’ll explain later in the post.
yesterday, i was driving to school like i do every day. suddenly a van decided to change lanes or something in front of me. i hit the breaks as hard as i could but the little space i had plus the wet road resulted in the van hitting the left side of my car.
after a long wait for the insurance and other things, the man driving the van decided to not pay for my damage and although i wanted to go to the court for it my dad declined. my car functions as always but it is pretty beat up and i can’t open the left door. it leaves on monday for the shop and i have to pay $5,300 mexican pesos for it to be fixed.
the only physical thing that happened to me was a great state of shock and that my right hand nerves are swollen because of the tension that i put in when i hit the breaks and braced myself for the impact. i have to keep my hand immobilized for the weekend, so i can only type using my left hand (hence the lack of capitalization).
julie’s tips for when you get into a accident:
- ALWAYS HAVE YOUR LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE POLICY. ALWAYS!!!! Also a map with street names helps the insurance people.
- try to stay calm.
- if you know you’re going to crash, try to position the car as to not crash with a corner. it is better to receive the impact from the sides than it is to receive it from the corners.
- call your insurance ASAP, do not wait to talk to the other driver.
- DO NOT get into a fight with the other driver.
- TRY to take a picture of the accident if you are able, this helps in case you want to go to the court.
- After everything is said and done, just cry and let it all out, then sleep it off.
all in all i’m fine and happy that nothing worse happened.

Puedes ser el mejor driver of all times y aún así no te salvas de que un wey que no es el mejor driver of all times te choque a ti.
Concuerdo con Arely, actúas dependiendo de la situación, aunque el tip de siempre traer todo pa que no “vaiga siendo” XD es muy bueno
