Tips for getting straight hair

Now I’m no stylist, I don’t even like to experiment with my own hair. In fact, the only time I’ve dyed my hair was when I had the bottom dyed red (which I totally miss BTW). The one thing I like to do to get a total makeover is to get it straight.
Yes, I’m one of those curly girls that dream of straight hair. Don’t get me wrong, I looove zee curls and love them better now that they are short, but nothing can beat the feel of waking up, passing a comb and be ready to go out.
So, how do you go from mini-afro to sleek & chic hair?
Well, what I like to do is to wash my hair very thoroughly, deep condition and then let it air dry for a couple of hours. For me, it’s very important not to expose my hair to too much heat. I have very thin hair and it gets damaged pretty fast so the less time I spend heating it the best. That is one of the reasons why I don’t use a blow drier. The other being that, well, I don’t actually know how to use one.
While my hair is getting dry, I like to apply a bit of TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Protection Spray. In my case, it helps the iron slide better and it protects my hair from the heat! So there’s that.
Once my hair is super dry, I separate in section and then comb it until I feel no tangles. Then I start ironing with the highest heat setting there is available. That way, my hair gets straight with only one or two swipes from the iron (BTW, I own the most abused and oldest flat iron ever!).
Another thing that is crucial for my straight hair regime is a Double Brush. I got mine for free when my mum got hair dye at the supermarket. Just be sure to have untangled hair or it can get messy with the brush. Also practice a lot, my sister burnt a section of her hair because she didn’t know how to work the double brush and the iron at the same time.
After getting your hair super flat and sleek and chic, you can apply some type of serum or something. Personally, I don’t do that because my hair starts to curl instantly.
That’s it?
Yup, that’s how I get my hair to look like this:
And in less than 30 minutes too!
P.S.: Don’t you love the wall? I do, I love it very much!

Acabando el concierto mi pelo estaba entre lacio y medio chino porque noooonononono no sabes que asqueroso estaba empapado de sudor de todos en el concierto >_<
