I have a new Flat Iron!!!

It’s a GA.MA Professional CP1. Yes, it’s awesome and does wonders to my hair.

Boo, I just washed my hair but expect to see many more pics of me with straight hair from now on!

Here are pretty pictures of my new iron:

My sister first got a Ga.Ma flat iron like 2 years ago. Hers still works like a dream but it fell hard on marble floor and broke. It still works but it’s uncomfortable to use. Ga.Ma is a very good brand, and I’ve found that these flat irons do wonders for my unruly curls.

My other flat iron, was a disaster. The ceramic was falling off and it took ages to get heated. This one is awesome, gets heated in no time and I don’t have to worry about adjusting the temperature every few minutes.

I also bought special shampoo from Garnier for hair that gets heated a lot. I’ll be checking how it works during the next couple of weeks.

Now, I have to read some very boring stuff and finish tidying up my room. See ya!

Today I’m going to get some tacos with some friends. This is what I’m wearing:

  • Skinny jeans from Pull and Bear
  • Lego t-shirt from Stradivarius
  • Gray jacket from Stradivarius
  • Checkered flats from Salamandra
  • Glasses by Converse
  • Curly disarray

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these jeans. They are just perfect! A bit long, but I like how they pool at my ankles. Gray is my new black, I’m starting to buy all my clothes in gray instead of black. I’m seriously in love with the colour!

I was going through my sister’s room (don’t ask) and I saw this scarf on the floor at the back of her closet. I don’t think tat she has ever worn it, so I thought that I should give it some love and wear it today. It has no label but I’m pretty sure she got it at Pull and Bear or in San Diego.

Oh yeah, those last pictures are crooked, I suck at setting up my tripod. In my defense I balance my itsy-bitsy tripod on a table on top of my couch XD.

Back to school 2010

Ok now, THIS is my second to last back to school for my college years. Damn, have they been good!

My schedule this semester is almost perfect. I say almost because I have to wake up early on Tuesdays –_-. That is a killer, plus the traffic and ugh. The good thing is that I don’t really have to do scholarship service n_n. Alekz and I have all our classes together, we ended up with the same schedule because there weren’t enough classes to choose from.

One of the classes I’m taking this semester is called New Media Aesthetics. It is about design, color, composition and all that stuff but oriented to web. I can say that this is THE class I’ve been looking for. It looks like it’s going to be tough because the teacher seems tough but I think it’ll be worth it to stick it out.

This past weekend I spent 50 hours with little to no electricity. If you follow my Twitter you might already know that I was desperate!! Seriously, no internet, no TV, no phone, no nothing. I couldn’t even clean because I couldn’t use my vacuum cleaner! (Yes, I’ve become a total neat freak, sue me).

I learned to make candles from leftover candle wax, I roamed the supermarket for like 2 hours (and I was supposed to only get candles), I went to see home appliances and look for the perfect flat iron (mine is about to die T_T). I also read my very boring homework.

On Saturday, I went to Arely’s. You see, Arely is going to be studying abroad in Spain this semester. She’s now reading this from somewhere near Madrid. Of course we had to say goodbye to her with a BANG! And her family organized a party for her. I saw some of the Maddox Girls too. We laughed, we danced and they drank XD. I’m going to miss Arely a lot, but I know that she’ll have the time of her life. Did I mentioned that I wore red-orange lipstick?

My lips stood out in every picture. At first I wasn’t comfortable but then I stopped caring.

So, yeah, not many things other than… OMG Prince Charming said that I was LINDA!!!! (Linda means a lot of things like cute, sweet, caring, gentle, etc).

Well, I’m off to dinner. See ya!

Loads of things

I haven’t been writing that much.

I feel that I’m not very good at it and it frustrates me to no end. When I was in High School, I used to get As on all of English papers, because I used to write so well. I still am a better writer in English than in Spanish, but I think that I’ve forgotten basic rules. *Sigh* I miss those days…

Anyways, this week was my last winter break week. I got to do so many things! It was awesome!

On Wednesday, I woke up early and then went to school to pick up my parking lot pass. I was scheduled to get it at 1 pm but I arrived at 12:15 and 20 minutes later, I already had my pass. While waiting, I got to talk to Fede. Fede is one of my classmates who I hadn’t talked to in ages. He’s really handsome and charming so it’s always nice to talk to him. On my way back, I got an SMS from Prince Charming (PC). I didn’t know what it said until I got home. At first I was excited because he was wishing me a Happy New Year and then the excitement fell when he asked me about classes that he could take and if I could help him with his schedule ¬¬. We messaged back and forth until he had his schedule figured out completely.

At 3pm I registered my classes. I talked to Alekz and then convinced him to meet me in Plaza Satélite in the afternoon. The reason I was going to Plaza Satélite that afternoon was that I was going to meet Aurea in person for the very first time. Aurea is one of my blogger girls, she’s Mexican but she lives in Sweden and she was here for Winter break.

I got to our meeting place at 4pm (I’m a time freak, as well as a clean freak) and waited for a bit and she arrived along with her mum and her BF. We talked a lot, about everything. She’s as cool in person as she is in her blog. Then we went to get sushi and her mum and BF caught up with us and Alekz too. It was all very nice, just talking and laughing. Her mum is really cool too, she’s very much like my mum. I really had a god time! The one bad thing: We both had out cameras but we forgot to take pictures!!!

Yesterday, we had our traditional Winter Gathering. The boys, Mido, L and Ami came over to my place to eat and had our gag gift exchange. The food was awesome! My mum makes the best meals and I was having fun until my mum pulled me into the kitchen and told me that we were ignoring L and Ami. I was like “What?” but left it at that and carried on with our food. We had various dishes (all full of meat, fat and spice), the cake and the snacks (brought by Isaac). Isaac asked if he could shower at my place, no one had ever asked me to take a shower… My mum was like o_O Sure. It was too funny.

My gag gift was a baby sweater in pink that read “eBay” (because I buy a lot of stuff from eBay). I gave Shana Pol girly writing supplies (because he’s manly and a writer), Mario gave Pakito a mirror (because he’s afraid of mirrors), Pakito gave Alekz a pin up of a sexy Super girl, Alekz gave Ami an apron and other stuff but I didn’t get the joke. Ami gave Isaac cropped undershirts (because he likes to show off his physique), Isaac gave L glowing glasses (to see Ami in a new way), L gave Javi something and Javi was going to give Mido his gift but he didn’t go.

Then we made our ay to Pockets Billiards to have some beer and play. This time I managed to, how to say it, I managed to get some balls into the holes in the pool table (I know no pool lingo). It was such a thrill! Shana Pol came with Shanna Pol (an old high School classmate of mine) and we talked for a bit. She’s as nice as I remembered her. Largo came too, I’ve missed him so much! But I only got to see him for a little bit because my Dad came to pick me up quite fast.

Here’s a picture:

I’m bored.

I’m simply too bored to care, it’s like when you have so much free time and you just have nothing else to do. Nothing to clean, nothing to work on, nothing to watch on TV because everything is re-runs now, no movies to watch. Nothing.

So yesterday I was browsing College Fashion and I saw a post called: DIY Projects to Cure the Winter Break Boredom Blues. I clicked on it and they were all fashion relate DIYs. I’m not good at arts and crafts but I’ve always wanted to learn how to sew and the Puff Skirt tutorial looked simple enough. I thought: “I have nothing to lose and fabric is not that expensive”.

Today I went to the fabric store (silly me went to the expensive one because my sister didn’t want to walk the 2 blocks to get to the reasonably priced one) and bought 1m of gray fabric (don’t ask what it is because I don’t know). Then we went to another store to get some thread and elastic.

I came back home and asked my mum to show me how to use the sewing machine (I’ve never used it before! EVER!) and I got started. My mum helped me a lot but I did all of the sewing. Surprisingly I’m not bad at it and can actually keep a semi-straight line (which I think is good for my first time). It took me like an hour to finish it (I kept stopping to make sure the fabric was straight and my seam was going ok) and here it is:

  • Gray puff skirt – DIY
  • Black knit top – Bershka
  • Black leggings – Shasa
  • Black boots – H&M

I don’t think it turned out THAT bad. I like it!

First outfit post of the year. It would have been yesterday but we all know about the camera issue I had (clutch to small for camera + iPod + cables + lip gloss + etc).

Tonight I’m going to another JW meeting (I knoooow! BOORING!). My parents’ congregation have an issue with low attendance and to avoid some of the problems (which shall not be discussed for obvious reasons) that forced my sister and I to fled the religion, I’m going to make it seem like I go all the time.

Ehm, so I was wondering what to wear. My Element dress was out because it’s “too short” and  I didn’t want to wear the stuff I’ve worn before. Then I told my mum that I needed a gray skirt for my wardrobe (gray is becoming my new black) and she wiped out a high waist gray skirt that my sister bought when she was in San Diego but never wore because it was too small for her. Plus, the high waist does nothing for her figure. So after a few alterations I decided to wear it tonight. My mum is the best when it comes to quick clothing fixes.

So I wore:

 DSC02212-1

  • Gray high waist skirt from Old Navy
  • Black top (gift from L)
  • Black tights
  • Steve Madden ankle boots
  • Key note necklace from TodoModa

Extra for the cold:

  • Pink felted jacket from Willi Smith (borrowed from my mum)

I’m sporting blue nail polish *GASP*. I’d better get my make up done before Dad starts getting paranoid about being early.
