On Saturday, one of my cousins had her quinceañera (it’s like a coming out to society party in Latin American cultures that happens when a girl turns 15). Usually those parties are super formal but my cousin, bless her heart, wanted a lounge theme to her party so it was more casual.

Anyways, I ended up wearing my graduation dress with some tights and my new glitter shoes! Sorry for the lack of outfit pictures but with my camera’s accident, I only got to take these:

They are black glitter, but they actually look more dark grey. I almost went for the silver ones but I think that I will get more wear out of the black ones. I also got some gel inserts to keep them on my feet. They are my highest and more comfortable heels ever!

Do you have glitter heels? If you don’t you should really get some. I’d kill for a pair of glitter Converse *_*.

I attended the Manhes & Massun show during Mercedes-Benz DFashion on Wednesday. I went with my BFF and this time it was at the Hipódromo de las Américas (a horse racing track). The location of the tent was right in the infield and we had a lot of fun.

Arriving there was kind of pain, the entrance to the infield is located at a very busy spot, plus when you get there you get assaulted with a huge stench of manure which is just gross. Once you actually get to the infield, the stench is gone but you have to brave a dirt road in heels to get to the tent. I have to say that this was the WORST part of it. The last venue didn’t have any of these problems but it was smaller.

The turn out this year was HUGE! The sun was shining and once we got in, we just chilled until it was time for our show.

• Grey cross body bag from Sfera

I didn’t think my camera would fit in my little bag but it did!! Have I told you how much I love that camera? Anyways, while we were waiting we got our picture taken by American Express and by Sony Alpha partners.

This time we didn’t get seating upgrades because the show was packed! There were very few empty seats compared to last year. I was very happy, but Sophie and Isabel deserve to have their beautiful work showcased :D. Here’s how the runway looked from our seats:

As always, you have to wait a huge while for all the sponsor ads to show before the show starts, but once it does it is amazing and it goes by so fast! Here are my pictures from the runway, the designs were really girly and I loved the prints. The male models were really funny XD one of them was so nervous that he missed his cue and his companion had to drag him down the runway! It was an awesome show!

This was my favourite dress, I need it in my life.

MANCANDY, the best and the last to present during IDM. I don’t think that anyone would have been better suited to close IDM. I didn’t catch the online stream (such a shame) but I hear that the show was actually at the St. Regis here in Mexico City with a front row entirely made up by A-list people from Mexico.

One thing I usually love about MANCANDY is their prints, they have cute little prints that remind me so much of Gilda and Emma, I do not know why. I found the sweater:

Anyways, back to the focus of this post, MANCANDY showed his A/W 2011 collection. I loved the shapes and the colours. The accessories were pretty nice and I really liked the shoes. I did miss the prints, but it’s A/W and A/W is always a little bit more reserved than S/S. I really don’t have much to say but I leave you with pictures from my favourite looks.

I need this dress in my life.

Singer/Actress/Model Eiza González walked the show as well.

So that’s it from me right from the Mexican fashion events. I hoped that you enjoyed looking at what my local designers have to offer to the fashion world. I was pleasantly surprised, I’ve never payed that much attention to Mexican fashion and I can say that I did miss out a LOT!

Marvin y Quetzal was originally a designer duo, but now only Marvin Durán remains. That’s fine, Marvin’s work is really outstanding and this collection was full of texture and bright colours.

The show was live streamed and it was really nice. Singer Natalia LaFourcade was in charge of the live music, the models looked amazing and even if the video quality wasn’t ideal, the fact that it was the first IDM stream and the sound was perfect was awesome.

IDM or International Designers Mexico is another Mexican Fashion Week event. I think I’ve mentioned this, but we don’t really have like a Fashion Week like New York or Paris. We have two events a season, DFashion and IDM. Well, the point is that I’m going to be posting about IDM this week :D.

One of the shows I was more excited about (and missed!) was the Cherry Project show. I’ve following Jonathan Morales on and off for a few years now and I love his creations. He used to sell at a store in my suburb but now all sales are directly with him.

His pieces are interesting, wearable, fun and super original. This season he used a lot of sheers, vibrant colours and incredible shoes! I loved the jackets like you have no idea. I don’t really have much more to say so I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Can I have this jacket? Yes, please!

I can’t wait to show you more designers, IDM is full of my favourite designers (ironically, I couldn’t attend) and they are all coming out with incredible collections.

You can catch some IDM shows on livestream through Cool Hunter Mexico, here is the complete calendar. The streams are not Burberry ones, but they are really good for being the first time that they get done in México.
