I promised myself that I wouldn’t do another nail post until I finished the nail treatment that I was using. Then my nail polish fell out and I got mad and did this manicure instead. It is very simple but I love its delicate, girly and frosty look.

I’m really proud with my nails and fingers. Until very recently, I used to bite not only my nails, but my fingers as well. There would always be some kind of lesion on my fingers and they would bleed a lot. My nails are very thin, weak and they also peel. It is the most annoying thing ever.

To stop myself from biting, I got into nail art. After all, why would I spend so much time doing my nails only to bite everything off later? That is the reason why I started all those nail posts a while ago. I started using Orly’s Tough Cookie as a base and my nails are stronger than ever. I also started using cuticle oil that I got like a thousand years ago and more hand cream :). As you can see, my nails are looking really nice.

Here’s what I used to do this, it is so simple that you will laugh:

1. Orly Tough Cookie as a base
2. 1 coat of L.A. Colors Blossom
3. 1 coat of Kleancolor Aurora
4. 1 coat of Top Cosmetics Super Matte Coat

I love the look of mattified glitter polishes. I think that the glitter has a bigger opportunity to shine, instead of trying to compete with the usual glossy finish. I’m going to stock up on this matte top coat, since there is little to no chance of China Glaze’s Matte Magic to ever get to Mexico.

I hate that we miss out on pretty much every cool beauty product!

Blogging:

• Change the layout of my blog to something I actually like – I’m all for minimalism and white space and stuff like that, I just feel like this layout lacks character. I’m going to design something with more depth, maybe it won’t be a big change but it will liven up this a little bit more.
• Concentrate on  improving my photography – This doesn’t mean that outfit pictures are going to show up here more or anything like that. I just want to make better quality images, whether they are product shots, random tourist-y pics or just silly self-portraits for my 365. I just ordered some filters and I’m reading up on photography blogs. I want to produce better images for my blog.
• Post regularly - I made 22 posts in 2011. 22 out of 365 days. That has to change, if I want my blog to be noticed and read I need to post and post and post as much as I can. You can call me out on it as much as you want.
• Comment on other blogs more - I have my favourite blogs and I comment regularly on them. I rarely get new blogs to read and I don’t comment a lot. I’m going to work on my commenting skills and just add something to someone’s article or to the conversation.
• Keep up with my social media outlets, specially Tumblr - I run 4 Tumblr blogs, I keep Shoes Galore and Type Addict updated almost all the time (thank goodness for Tumblr queues) but I keep my personal and my web dev Tumblrs neglected. It’s time to change that.My Facebook fan page has now a direct connection to my RSS vía Bloglovin’s My Posts Facebook app and Twitter is updated way too much. I apologize for tweeting mostly in Spanish :(.

Style & beauty

• Learn to make the perfect cat eyeliner - I need patience with this, so much patience.
• Invest in my skin care routine - I don’t have terrible skin but it could be better, I’m going to invest more in skin care products and maybe get a Clarisonic, everyone seems amazed with it and it’s available here thanks to Sephora Mexico!
• Wear more skirts and dresses – I live in jeans, but there are so many cute dresses and skirts and other clothing options that I just want to get out of my comfort zone.
• Dress like a fashion blogger on a budget - Style direction post coming before the end of the week.

These goals were inspired by many bloggers who I admire and follow almost religiously. I just added a bunch of blogs on my Bloglovin’ and I’m discovering a lot of new (old) things. I’m very excited about this year.

I have some 2012 goals, but I’m going to wait until I have them clearly defined to post them. I’m also going to change some stuff around here as soon as I finish the project that I’m working on.

Originally, I wanted to fan out my hair in a different way but it turned out terrible. I did a lot of tries to get this shot and here are some outtakes. I ended up with a very sore neck and very messy hair, good thing I was planning on washing it today anyway. I hope you enjoy watching me make silly faces and hair motions.

Nuestro súper editor y director, Alekz, hace un excelentísisisisimo trabajo de edición con Sony Vegas (porque iMovie es para n00bs) y se avienta noches completas sin dormir para que los videos estén publicados lo más pronto posible. Yo la hago de productora y dibuja-bigotes oficial, además ayudo a Paco a decir sus ideas mientras grabo para sacar el material extra. Obviamente a Paco le toca pensar y decidir los temas para cada vlog, se niega a hacer un script pero todo sale bien y muy chistoso.

No se les olvide darles manita arriba, añadir a favoritos y suscribirse al canal :D.
